Registration Request Form
Use the registration request form for any registration issues (if Wiser says you do not have permission, or that you have not met pre-requisites or anything else). It is the fastest and most efficient method to resolve any registration issues. Remember, Wiser does not recognize that any classes that you may have waived will satisfy pre-requisites, but your advisors can override that and this is accomplished by submitted the registration request.
Your Individual Registration Date
The registration period will begin on November 2nd, with students that have completed more credits having access earlier in the week and those completing only their first semester having access starting towards the end of that week. You can verify your individual open enrollment date by logging into your Wiser account, and checking on the right hand side of the page for Enrollment Dates (see image below for example).
HOLDS
Advising Holds
All students completing their first academic term will have an advising hold on their Wiser accounts, preventing them from registering until they contact their advisors to have it lifted. This is just a check in with your advisor, and can be addressed via email.
CM Grad Program Advisors
Last name begins with A-M => Jeff Masse: Jeffrey.Masse@umb.edu
Last name begins with N-Z => Tara Norton: Tara.Norton@umb.edu
(NOTE: Wiser may list other advisors, they are default names.
Jeff and Tara are the academic advisors for the CM Grad Program students.)
Other Holds
You should also check your Wiser account for any other holds that may be placed on your account, which can be time consuming to remove and can prevent you from registering when you are ready to do so. Log into your Wiser account, and view the right hand side for the section labeled HOLDS (see below image for example). If nothing appears there, you do not need to do anything. If there is a notice, it will indicate which office to contact to address the hold. Some examples:
Past Due = Contact the Bursar’s Office to arrange payments.
Immunization = Contact University Health Services to verify your immunization requirements and record.
Parking = Contact the Transportation Department to address any outstanding parking fees.
Degree Audits
Wiser does not provide degree audits at the graduate level. These can be accomplished by first using the degree planner provided to you by your advisor (or using the fresh ones available on the CM Student Resources Page) and checking against your transcripts. Unofficial transcripts can be accessed through Wiser, under the drop down menu “Quick Links” in the Academics section of your Wiser landing page (see below).
Leave of Absence
If you will be taking a leave of absence, for any reason, you will need to inform your advisor, so that you can be enrolled into the CAS 600 Leave of Absence class. There is a fee of $219 for the term, but this will keep your record active and allow you to return the following semester without needing to reapply and be readmitted.
Courses Available
Here you will find a Draft of the Spring Schedule where you can view courses and create a schedule prior to registration opening during the week of November 2nd. NOTE: Wiser will always have the most up-to-date version of the schedule and should be considered the final version for all course schedules. If there is a discrepancy between the draft excel version and what is listed in Wiser, the Wiser listing will be the correct final schedule.
